Aussies Aboard: Trio Gear Up For World Finals
By: Sean Walsh Tuesday, May 7, 2024 @ 2:50 PM
As the PBR World Finals gets underway this Friday Morning Australian time at the picturesque Cowtown Coliseum, three of our very own will be battling across the four rounds in the hope of making it to AT&T Stadium for the Championship Event next weekend.
PBRAustralia's Sean Walsh breaks down the three Round 1 matchups for our Australians in this edition of Aussies Abroad.
Callum Miller on Fire Zone (Martinez Bucking Bulls)
2024 UTB Stats:
Miller: 5-from-31 (16.1%)
Fire Zone: 4-0 with an average bull score of 43pts
Previous Match up:
PBR Lousiville 2024 Rd 1- 2.41 Second BOT 42.75 Bull Score
This matchup is a rarity on the PBR Elite tour, where a bull rider gets the luck of the draw to see the same bull two weeks in a row, which should swing the ledger more the way of the Warwick cowboy.
Miller booked his trip to the big dance after a solid debut UTB regular season finishing 40th in the world, and will be looking to avenge last weekend's buck off.
CALLUM MILLER 2024 UTB REGULAR SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
The bovine will be out of a left delivery as he was last weekend, where the Martinez Bucking Bulls pen member came out following the gate to half turn to the right before turning back to his familiar anti-clockwise turn away from the Aussie's hand.
Cal will be preparing to take this bull around to the left and if he can weather the early storm and find the middle, he could be looking at a solid mid-80s mark to open the weekend at Fort Worth.

Brady Fielder on Mercy Rule (Davis Rodeo Ranch / Drop IX Rodeo)
2024 UTB Stats:
Fielder: 22-from-61 (36%)
Mercy Rule: 1-0 average bull score of 42.25 pts
Previous Match up: N/A
The Clermont Native will nod his head on Friday for the third time at a PBR World Finals event after previously qualifying in 2019 and 2021.
He will be sharing the chute with a young bovine from the Davis Rodeo Ranch / Drop IX Rodeo combo called Mercy Rule, who has only one previous out in the big leagues this season.
Last weekend, the animal athlete successfully got Flavio Zivieri down early on a trip typical of a jump kicker type bull, using the first two/three jumps to clear the chutes before he turned back to the right.
Brady Fielder 2024 UTB Regular Season Highlights
Fielder has had a few qualified rides this season against the Bulls with similar trips, such as the 85.5 points with Po Dunk in Sacramento, who had plenty of early kick and rare before settling into the riding hand of the Texas Rattler.
I'd have him as favourite to get this one done and gain a score to open his account at the 2024 World Finals on Friday Morning.
Qynn Andersen on Rowdy (Ogden Ranch / Hart Cattle Co.)
2024 UTB Stats:
Andersen: N/A (2-from-12 in 2023 PBR Teams Series)
Rowdy: 5-2 with an average bull score of 41.36 pts
Previous Match up: N/A
Qynn Andseren's 2024 Velocity Tour season has been one that's been strong enough to book a ticket to Fort Worth, gaining the highest placing of the international invites last weekend at Corpus Christi to ensure he made it to his first PBR World Finals.
Having been a member of the Missouri Thunder during the 2023 teams season, Andersen got a taste of the Elite tour and will be looking to show the world he can match it with the best, facing Rowdy from Ogden Ranch / Hart Cattle Co.
Rowdy has been covered twice in 2024 by Clay Guiton and Leonardo De Castro, with the young bovine making his first appearance at the World Finals, similar to Andersen.
QYNN ANDERSEN 2024 VT HIGHLIGHTS
The bovine has shown a consistent trip of a slow-burning low spin trip to the left, often bucking off riders who aren't patient and try to do too much and fall to the outside of the spin.
Andersen has his work cut out, but if he can stay on time with this small bucker, he could find himself a trip to the pay window to celebrate his first PBR World Finals out.
