With two games now complete in the 2024 PBR Origin series, the 2024 Cowboy of Origin race heats up with four riders covering more than one bull in Rounds 1 and 2 (Extra outs don't count towards Cowboy Of Origin Standings)
Ben Bode, fresh off a maiden Unleash The Beast debut in Billings, MT this past April, has had two massive qualified rides during the series thus far.
During Round One at Brisbane's Origin I battle, Bode was able to take Airborne (CF7 Bucking Bulls) away from his hand for an impressive 85-point marker for the Queenslanders.
The Calliope, QLD product was then able to back it up at Newcastle last weekend during Origin II, finding the whistle on Paintbox ( MJ / Keliher Bucking Bulls) during his Round two re-ride opportunity for 86.75 points to take his tally to 171.25 and lead the Cowboy of Origin standings heading into Cairns next month.
Across the border, Willow Tree's very own Clint Glass leading the New South Wales team's efforts in the standings, having also been successful on two of his four opportunities to earn points towards the Cowboy of Origin title.
Glass was able to put a disappointing Origin I behind him and add to NSW's tally in both Rounds 1 and 2 during Newcastle's Origin II, getting MSG Locating Filthy Rich (Lazy G) done for 85 points in the opening round into his hand.
He was then able to drag 84.25 points out of Crooked Intentions (Morgy's Cattle Co) in Round Two and for the second time on the night add more points to the NSW scoreline.
Glass will go into Cairns only two points behind Bode and with two more opportunities for scores, it remains wide open for plenty of riders to grab the $25,000 bonus and the crowd on best rider in PBR Origin 2024.
