ICYMI: Best of the PBR Origin Bovines

As we head into the third and final game of the 2024 PBR Origin series next weekend in tropical North Queensland, it's a perfect time to look back at some star bovine performances thus far in the series across the first two nights.

With 96 outs thus far across the series to date, there have been only 24 qualified rides with a 25% qualified ride percentage, it has been the animal athletes who have left a mark on the biggest stage of PBR Australia's regular season.

T4: 43-Point Bull Score

MJ / Keliher Bucking Bulls' After Dark 

6.51-sec BOT vs Toby Collins Rd 2 Newcastle

Coming into Round Two in Newcastle, MJ/Keliher's star bovine was sitting on a six-out buckoff streak extending back to Kikivan last year, dominating every rider thus far in 2024.

Toby Collins was unable to gain the first score of 2024 on the young bucker, getting thrust to the outside of the spin at 6.51 seconds and getting called for the buckoff.

The bovine is now sitting at 41.73-point bull score average and will be one to watch for Cairns in Origin III.

Maynes Bucking Bulls' Canadian Club

4.47-sec BOT vs Clint Glass Rd 3 Newcastle

After being covered in Newcastle's corresponding fixture in 2023 by Jake Curr, the Maynes Bucking pen member was out for revenge in his first out of the 2024 Origin series.

Matched against NSW's best rider of the series to date Clint Glass, Canadian Club took full advantage of his anti-clockwise turn around to the left and disposed of the right-handed Glass in 4.47 seconds. 

Now at 8-1 on the year, the bucker currently sits in 15th spot on the PBRA Australia rankings.

Dittmann Bucking Bulls' Cattle King Roid Rage

vs Zane Hall Rd 2 Brisbane


A seasoned veteran on the PBRA circuit Cattle King Roid Rage has had some massive highlight reel trips over the years, and this clash with Queensland's Zane Hall was no different. 

Sharing the chute in Round 2 of Origin I at Brisbane, the bovine came out all guns blazing from the moment the latch was cracked and made easy work of Hall, with the rapid low spin trip he is famous for.

Now inside the top 10 on the year's standings, look for another big event in Cairns for the former PBRA Bull Of The Year.

MJ Keliher McGuire Partnership's Mooseys After Party

3.31-sec BOT vs Beau Willis Rd 2 Newcastle


Moosey's After Party is quickly becoming a fan favourite among the PBRA fan base, with former professional Rugby League and current PBR staff member Josh McGuire jumping on the ownership team of this up-and-coming animal athlete. 

Tasked with trying to match another veteran of the PBRA circuit Beau Willis in Round Two at Newcastle and didn't disappoint the local crowd, getting the buckoff in only 3.31 seconds. 

The bovine is rapidly becoming nightmare fuel for riders, with a 9-0 on the year to date, and is looking better and better with each out.

Morgy Cattle Co's Man Glitter

5.73-sec BOT vs Ben Bode Bonus Round Newcastle


Arguably the top matchup of the PBR Origin series to ​date, two of the in-form competitors in the PBR Origin arena faced off in the Bonus Round to decide the fate of the two teams in the Hunter Valley. 

Man Glitter, a bovine sitting spot on the PBR Australia Standings with a mammoth 43.35-point Short Go/Bonus Round average so far in 2024, against Australian #3 Ben Bode.

Coming out to the right with an insane amount of jump and kick, the ferocity was too much for Bode to handle away from his hand and hit the dirt in 5.73 seconds, with Man Glitter awarded the highest mark of the series thus far.
