Aussie Sensation Brady Fielder Leads Challenger Series Event in Sioux City, Iowa After Opening Night of Competition

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – As the action got underway Friday night at the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Challenger Series event in Sioux City, Iowa, 2020 PBR Australia Grand Finals winner Brady Fielder (Clermont, Queensland, Australia) set the tone early, taking the lead on night one of the two-day weekend. 

The Ariat Texas Rattlers rider had the Sioux City fans buzzing early in the evening as he fired out of the chutes aboard Dirt Gangster (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for a solid 84.5-point score.

In the weekend’s unique format in Sioux City, the Top 8 riders returned to the dirt on Friday night to attempt a second bull in the evening's championship round. Unfortunately for Fielder, and the other seven men atop the leaderboard, the dynamic animal athletes of the PBR prevailed, leading to no scores in the added round.

Travis Wimberley (Las Lunas, New Mexico), Matt Allgood (Saline, Michigan) and Dustin Herman (Great Falls, North Carolina) are currently in a three-way tie for the No. 2 spot on the leaderboard.

Early in the night, Herman secured his spot after scoring 82 points for his qualified ride aboard That’s How We Roll (L4 Livestock).

Not long after Herman had fans cheering, Allgood matched his score aboard Big Money (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls).

The final cowboy in the hat trick of matching 82-point scores was Wimberly atop Sunset Limited (L4 Livestock).

Rounding out the Top 5 of the night was 2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas) in fifth compliments of his 80-point score aboard Ground Zero (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls).

The PBR Sioux City Classic will continue at the Tyson Event Center Saturday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. CDT.
